As an artist with other artist friends the perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and the self doubt are pretty par for the course. I am so impressed with your progress and respect the dedication to the 100 days of sketches. I’ve tried to do something like that but couldn’t make the time to commit to it.

  • Holy shit bro, I’ve been doing art for 14 years and I’m incredibly envious of your progress! I had skill regression due to masked autism, and lost some of my art skills that I learned during coping with traumatic points in my life, I’ve basically given up relearning because not being able to do as good as I used to is disheartening. But this video gives me some motivation, it’s proving we just have to be consistent to do better.

    @Charlesmouse@Charlesmouse2 ай бұрын
    • Exactly! Consistency will lead to improvement, and when it doesn’t, it just means that your artistic eye is improving at the same rate. I grew up drawing every chance that I got, but then I used it as an unhealthy coping mechanism during a bad time in my life, so I have a hard time doing it right now. Watching this video though made me realize that I can still get simple enjoyment from drawing again if I allow myself to simply see it as such. It doesn’t have to be a competition to be the best.

    • I think it's a combination of good practicing methods and repetition. He already started with learning from many references and also how to break them down into simple shapes. Shapes and forms are fundamentals. They make drawing much easier. He also stayed in his area of interest for a while and kept repeating the same or similar things. In this case, the faces. Then, he started to expand into areas relative to what he already knows, like expressions, bodies, and he also started experimenting with different angles. I don't know if he realizes this or not, but he's very smart with how he learns and practices.

  • 11:54 "I feel like what I draw usually isn't as good as the reference" If there's one piece of advice I can offer you it's that you should focus on your drawing as opposed to the reference, It's never going to be 1 to 1, but as long as you feel satisfied with what you drew then it doesn't have to be a perfect copy.

    @null6406@null64063 ай бұрын
    • If he does want to get better he should use critical thinking and draw shapes and construction etc. I thought copying references was the best way to improve but I was wrong and wasted years just copying mindlessly and didn't learn much

      @sael5084@sael50843 ай бұрын
    • It depends on what your goal is, if you are trying to make a pretty picture yes, but if you're trying to learn how to draw something like an angle of the face, focus on the reference

      @Djpokemon12@Djpokemon123 ай бұрын
    • @Djpokemon12 first tip is to construct and deconstruct. Know why the body looks this way in that pose or movement etc. What's behind the eye we see. How the skull and bones look like and are places. He should also do gesture drawing.its fun and gets you familiarized with the body In a simple way. This happens because you see something wrong and you fix it but you don't understand why and you revert back to the stage where you didn't see the mistake. Then your soul starts singing "im a fool,I know nothing. I take the role of a silly clown" hence the potemkim phase. So to counter that, you must understand everything to the point where you can teach and or fundamently understand why it's supposed to look like that

  • I am an artist and everyone's learning curve is different! "I don't think you're supposed to do this" doesn't exist. If that is how you judge the proportions in your process, then it works! So proud you're already talking like an artist.

  • Watching the progress pewds made not just inspired me to attempt the same method, but also reminded me that it's always never too late to learn something you were passionate about but procrastinated for years because of how unsure you are about the imaginary disappointment it will lead.

    • During his childhood, Kjellberg was interested in art and has detailed that he would draw popular video game characters such as Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as play video games on his Super Nintendo Entertainment System, such as Star Fox and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. During high school, he frequently played video games in his bedroom and would skip classes to join at an Internet café with friends. During his last year of high school, he bought a computer with the money he made selling artwork through his grandmother's gallery. From wikipedia, u actually right, he def not beginner @@ReyRey277

    • I do that a ton as well, the one I remember specifically... Someone at work asked me to draw them a picture of Trunks from DBZ, I had a cool thought of posing him in his black tank top, holding his coat over one shoulder and his sword over the other. I thought "Well, I have a coat, and I have a sword... And I've been hitting the weights pretty hard... I could pose!" Lost of a lot of self confidence that day... But the drawing came out sick lol

  • Felix!! This is amazing! It’s so refreshing seeing someone jumping into the world of art and drawing and doing it for fun too! It’s so impressive seeing this kind of perseverance, as an artist i am a little intimidated but it’s actually inspiring and pushes me to want to be more consistent and improve a lot like you do!

  • It’s so inspiring, as an artist, to see this. Art I believe can be learned by everyone, it’s a skill that develops everyday. A muscle so to speak. The therapeutic results are insane

  • As an artist I'm legitimately SHOCKED by how fast you've improved, please keep going! This is fascinating to see. I also really like that you're being transparent about which ones were done without reference and which ones were done with reference, sometimes even showing the original drawing or photo you used. You're doing great, seriously, I bet next time there's a new GFUEL Pewdiepie flavor you'll end up drawing the promo art.

  • 7:52 My jaw dropped. It’s so true that it takes drawing 3000 bad drawings before making 1 good one. That’s what makes art so rewarding. Awesome process video! Looking forward for the 1 year update :)
