    • My family likes to call me spoiled. They don’t realize my life was a nightmare at home. Mom was abusive and dad was dying. My dad wanted me to be happy so he took me places and bought things I liked so I wouldn’t be sad. My family doesn’t take the time to realize that was the past and today I feel like I’m one of the most selfless people in my family because I’m always helping everyone else and not helping myself.

They actually told the girl to cry and make the biggest tantrum, just for the cameras. In exchange they would get payed and they could celebrate the party properly at the real date, in other place. The car was legit but this girl told me she has a great relationship with her parents and they were in it for the drama. It was a quite good win win for them. After all, this was before facebook so they were relatively safe. Edit, some typos here and there.

  • I was spoiled by my grandparents, but my brother was spoiled by my parents. We never had a lot of money but we usually had everything we could ask for. We didn't have a lot of money so we were spoiled with the toys we wanted or art supplies. Now, I really appreciate everything our parents and grandparents ever did for us and what they still do for us. I think that it was growing up before I had to that made me realize that gifts are just material and that I would rather have quality time and memories. Also, getting thrown into the real world when I moved in with my partner after withdrawing from school, I feel guilty for not realizing it sooner. I am grateful for what I do have and for what is to come.

The thing is… I was drinking a green slush while they were cracking jokes and then the most amazing thing happened. One of them cracked another joke, my mouth opens, and I legit SPRAY green slush out of my mouth all over my friends. It even went up and out of nose like snot. It was awesome and disgusting in equal measure 😂

She makes it very clear that when I have my own children, to not allow them to control me.

    • wish I could say the same. my parents had no idea how to discipline me, emotionally or otherwise. they didn't know how to put their emotions aside for me. they almost never said no to me, but when I was getting older (around 18) my mom would hardly let me go out with my friends without knowing exactly where I was and who I was with at all times...idk man it was some backwards shit. it was like I was never allowed to actually grow up and make mistakes like everyone else. I was treated really childishly, and I felt like I never got a chance to "prove" I was mature or whatever. I've grown from it though, and that's all that really matters.

    • @@ruesylvester it's weird that I know exactly what you mean because I didn't live that, my sister did. I watched her grow up and be in the same predicament of not being able to go out and prove maturity. Actually I think it somewhat applies to me as well, my parents hated that I stayed inside and gamed all day, asked me to get off yet never told me how else I should be spending my time. I watched them scold my sister for going out so they gave me no choice. Luckily i turned out fine.
